Dr. Kelkar earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from the Government Dental College in Indore and her Master of Science in Oral Biology from the UMKC School of Dentistry. She then attended the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2010. She began practicing dentistry that same year and joined Smile Breeze Dentistry in 2022.
Throughout her career, Dr. Kelkar has built extensive experience in restorative, cosmetic, endodontic, periodontal and comprehensive dentistry. Her clinical experience includes more than 25,000 fillings and restorative cases, approximately 4,000 dental crowns, 10,000 tooth extractions, 500 denture cases, 200 root canal cases and 3,000 periodontal therapy cases. She has also restored approximately 110 dental implants and has 10 years of experience with implant restoration and treatment planning. Implant placement is available within the practice but is not personally performed by Dr. Kelkar.
Dr. Kelkar has completed approximately 400 hours of continuing education after dental school, including about 200 hours focused on restorative dentistry. Her advanced training includes Reingage Parts 1 and 2 through the American Academy of Clear Aligners (AACA), Ultimate Occlusion Parts 1 and 2, advanced endodontic education with Dr. Sonia Chopra, and ongoing CBCT training. She has also completed approximately 45 hours of continuing education in clear aligner and orthodontic treatment, 30 hours in endodontics, 30 hours in cosmetic dentistry and additional education in implant dentistry, periodontal therapy and other areas of comprehensive care.
Her training allows her to provide a broad range of care within the practice, including root canal treatment, clear aligner therapy, cosmetic dentistry, dentures and removable prosthetics, and tooth extractions. Patients are often surprised by the range of treatment available in-office, including root canal therapy and wisdom tooth extractions. Dr. Kelkar’s goal is to make care more convenient while giving patients a clear understanding of their treatment options.
Technology also plays an important role in her approach to diagnosis and treatment planning. Smile Breeze Dentistry uses approximately six advanced technologies and treatment systems, including intraoral cameras, digital impressions and intraoral scanning, CBCT 3D imaging, AI-assisted CBCT imaging, periodontal desiccation therapy and Perio Protect®. Dr. Kelkar has worked with digital scanning technology since 2018 and continues to expand her training in advanced dental imaging.
Dr. Kelkar believes that successful dentistry begins with listening carefully and understanding the full picture of a patient’s oral health. Her approach combines clinical experience, attention to detail and comprehensive treatment planning so patients can make informed decisions with confidence. Outside the office, Dr. Kelkar enjoys painting, art, hiking and traveling. She lives in Frisco, TX, with her husband and two daughters and is proud to serve patients in Frisco as well as nearby communities including Allen, McKinney, Plano, Prosper and The Colony.
